This talk gives a brief history of the development of the lathe, with special reference to Maudslay, Roberts, Fox and Whitworth. |

This talk covers a number of topics connected with heat transfer and fluid flow, at a level which is easily understood by most model engineers. Includes a discussion of heat transfer in model boilers, how pop safety valves work, how an injector works. |

A talk illustrated by slides, and actual model wagons and coaches, as used on GL5MLA Railways, such as Gilling in North Yorkshire. About 60 mins. Requirements: Kodak Carousel 35 mm Slide Projector (Spare bulb MUST be available) and Screen. Given notice, speaker can provide projector (at extra cost (expenses to fetch and return)) if needed. |
