The Hull and District Society of Model & Experimental Engineers Ltd

Hull and District Society of Model & Experimental Engineers Ltd was established in 1937, and is a Member of the Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies

About us....

The Society has about sixty members who are building a typical variety of small locomotives, Stirling engines, stationary steam engines, clocks, model road vehicles, boats and other models. One member has built a barrel organ.
Amongst locomotives under construction are several "Sweet Peas", an "Emma Victoria" and a 5" ga."Duchess". The membership also has the usual interest in workshop tools and topics. Members of other societies are always welcome to attend our meetings as visitors. If you are interested in the hobby, but do not belong to any Society, why not come along and join us for some interesting and lively discussion? It’s only half a hobby when you do it on your own! Contact the Secretary for details, or just come along to one of our advertised meetings and make yourself known. To find us, see the Map (next page)

If your interests lie in the smaller scales (Gauge O downwards), why not visit the Hull Miniature Railway Society’s or the Hessle Model Railway Group's websites?
For something in between, the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers bridges the gap between conventional railway modelling and live steam model engineering. The East Riding & Wolds local area group website is at www.erandw.16mm.org.uk
